David Lebor
David has done 16 years of unique research into learning languages. He studied languages at Oxford University in the 90s, travelled widely, and worked for a decade in education before building a course for refugees to Berlin, which was shown on ARTE to 4m viewers because of the learning speeds the course was able to demonstrate.
For the last 7 years, he has grown a language learning business that appears to offer the world’s fastest way to learn any language. It is called Zinguist and has helped hundreds of people to learn a new language to conversational level in around 8 weeks, or reach an equivalent leap at a higher level. The success comes from supporting learners to learn languages like they did when they were chidren.
This leads to unexpected insights, such as that we should avoid reading and writing until we can speak, that languages should not be taught, and that language material or grammar is best avoided until you can speak a language. The developed system has proven fast and reliable even with difficult languages like Finnish and Hungarian, and at any level of language learning.
David loves spending time with his young son, wild swimming, and cooking.
